Richmond Park
Greater London's Richmond Park is famous for its population of red and fallow deer, which have been allowed to roam freely throughout the park since 1637. With over 4 million visits a year, Richmond Park is the most visited royal park outside central London. A mugging at gunpoint in 1854 reputedly led to the establishment of a park police force. In 2012 a dog owner was ordered to pay £315 after allowing five dogs to chase ducks in the park. In 2013 a cyclist was successfully prosecuted for speeding at 37 mph in the park.
