Unlike most members of the cat family, tigers like water. They are good swimmers and often cool off in pools or streams. They can swim up to six kilometers. Around 3,890 tigers remain in the wild, however, tigers face unrelenting pressures from poaching, retaliatory killings and habitat loss.
