Location: Island of Sylt, straddling the border between Denmark and Germany. In 1929 the light source was changed from petroleum to electricity. With no lighhouse keepers since 1977, the lighthouse is now remotely controlled by a time switch. It is lit an hour prior to sunset and doused one hour after sunrise.
