Napoleonvaart
Damme Canal, also known as Damse Vaart, near the city of Brugge in soft evening light in springtime, West Flanders, Belgium. The canal was was dug on command of Napoleon (circa 1810). This is why it is sometimes also referred to as the Napoleonchannel. The digging was done by Spanish prisoners of war at the time.
