The vineyards in this postcard-perfect part of Tuscany produce the grapes used in namesake Chianti and Chianti Classico. The Chianti region, extending roughly over the two main city provinces of Florence and Siena, has a history of cultivating wines dating back to the Etruscans that inhabited the area before the Roman empire.
